Virginia Gayle Loftis Kerr, “Ginny”, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.at Memorial Funeral Home with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Matt Moehring officiating. Internment to follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus.
Ginny was born on June 26, 1943, in Columbus, MS to the late George R. Loftis and the late Cara Pearl Loftis. She was retired after working 35 years with pediatrician Dr. Jo N. Robinson. She loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, antiquing, drawing and writing poetry. She loved music, especially that of Marty Robbins and Elvis. She was a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and attended the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include her children, daughter, Joanna Kerr Mancil (Jim) and son, Scott Kerr (Roberta); grandchildren Kacy M. Ferguson, Matthew S. Kerr (Kathy), Kari M. Prisock (Drew) and Joshua W. Kerr; great grandchildren Walker Ferguson, Katie Kerr, Mollie Prisock, Stone Ferguson, Lucas Kerr, McKinley Prisock, and Natalie Kerr; and brother, Frank Loftis (Dean).
