Ruby Creekmore

RUBY CREEKMORE - Ruby Grace Johnson Creekmore, age 96, of Steens, MS, passed away September 17, 2026, at Shepherd Hospice of Southaven, MS.  Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Lynville Methodist Church Cemetery in Preston, MS, with Rev. Chris Gully officiating.  Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

     Mrs. Creekmore was born April 19, 1930, in Meridian, MS, to the late Chester and Eula Mae Carlisle Johnson.  She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in education.  Mrs. Creekmore was a long time resident of Steens, MS, and attended the Caledonia United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Creekmore, brother, Chester Johnson, Jr., and sister, Rose Palmer.

     Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Creekmore Austin and her husband Charles of Tunica, MS, grandchildren, Adrian Austin and his wife Sophie, and Stephen Austin and his wife Sonja, and five great grandchildren.

     Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
