Mr. William Robin Weaver Jr., age 88, of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Collierville, Tennessee. Services will be held Saturday March 14, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Main Street Presbyterian Church; burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to service at the church. Robin was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, in 1938 and was raised in Columbus. He graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1956 and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1960. Demonstrating a lifelong love of learning, he later returned to Mississippi State University, where he earned a second degree in Accounting in 1975. Music was a central part of Robin’s life. He met his wife, Betty, while playing saxophone and clarinet in the high school band. He was a devoted member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church choir and later served as its choir director. Robin also found great joy in singing barbershop harmony with groups in Columbus, Mississippi, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Gifted with a keen mind and a love for problem-solving, Robin enjoyed creating practical solutions to a wide range of challenges, from electrical issues to thoughtfully designed and solidly engineered construction projects. Robin’s professional career reflected his diverse talents. He worked as an electrical engineer for Mississippi Power and later as an accountant for T.E. Lott and Company. While at T.E. Lott and Company, he founded the BankTel software company, skillfully blending his engineering expertise with his accounting knowledge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Greenhaw Weaver; his father, William Robin Weaver; his mother, Hazel Mertins Weaver; and his sister, Margaret Sanders. Robin is survived by his children; Bill Weaver of Chicago, IL, Stan Weaver of Hayesville, NC, and Steve Weaver of Memphis, TN; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth Crosetti, Hannah Leonard, Thomas Weaver, Andrew Weaver, Jonathan Weaver, Austin Weaver, Brooks Weaver, Adam Weaver, Brad Weaver, Megan Weaver, and Jennifer Weaver; and five great-grandchildren: George Crosetti, Alina Hilton, Theodore Weaver, Caroline Crosetti and Conrad Weaver.Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Weaver, Brad Weaver, Jonathan Weaver, Austin Weaver, Brooks Weaver, Andrew Weaver, and Thomas Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jack Carr, Billy Phillips, and Jerry Mitchener Memorials may be made to Main Street Presbyterian Church.
