Olive Dollar

Olive Backstrom Dollar, age 97, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 27, 2024, at her residence. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Sam Vaughn officiating. Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

 Mrs. Dollar was born June 22, 1927, in Columbus, MS, to Lillian P'Pool Backstrom and William Forest Backstrom. Olive was one of ten children. Olive was the last living sibling. She was preceded by her husband, Joe Dollar, and their son, Jay. Olive gave her life to Christ at the age of five and lived to serve God all of her life. She loved to do random acts of kindness. She was a faithful witness with a heart to lead the lost to Christ. Olive graduated from MSCW and taught school many years. As Joe's wife, she wore many hats...wife, mother, teacher, secretary, etc. 

 Pallbearers will be Heston Vaughn, Sammy Vaughn, Jr., Dylan Rost, and Robert Scholeeo. 

 The family wants to thank all the wonderful people who helped take care of Olive as well as her strong church family at Christ Is All Fellowship.
