Nancy Louise Hatton

Nancy Louise Hatton was relieved of her earthly pain and rose up to her heavenly home on July 5th 2025 after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Derma, Mississippi on September 28, 1938. She resided in Columbus, Mississippi for most of her adult life. Nancy always had a welcoming smile for each of her customers. She worked at Morrison’s Cafeteria as a waitress and worked at other restaurants around the area. She loved setting up booths at flea markets and antique shows! She opened her own store called Nancy Nic Nac’s in east Columbus. She was a member of Piney Grove Methodist Church. Nancy was a loyal and loving member of AA and AL-Anon. Nancy helped many younger members achieve sobriety. She was always ready to offer a hug and words of encouragement to those in need.

Nancy is survived by her sister Becky Collums Kellum, of Vardaman, MS; daughter Donna Jean Ellis (Mike) of Columbus, MS, sons Mike Lucius (Anne Marie) of Northport, AL; Jeff Lucius of Columbus, MS; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Lynn Collums of Derma, MS; her mother Wilma Winters, her Aunt Ludy and Uncle Lon Winters, who raised her of Derma, MS; her brothers J.W. Collums of Pearl, MS and Bobbie Collums of Derma, MS; her Loving husband, Lee Hatton, daughters Tammy “Tombo” Lucius and Terry Louise Baucom, and son Glenn Lucius all of Columbus, MS.

Pallbearers are Mike Lucius, Jeff Lucius, Bryan Ellis, Steven Baucom, Dustin Lucius, and Chico Bracknell. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Helton, Larry Sudduth, Keith Ellis, Mike Guffin, and members of her AA group. Brother Kenny Gardner will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday July 8th 2025. Funeral services are at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. Burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
