Mary Rainwater

MARY RAINWATER - Mary Sue Hamm Rainwater, age 95, of Columbus, MS, passed away December 26, 2025, at Generations of Vernon.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Gardens of Columbus with Rev. Ben Yarber officiating.  Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

     Mrs. Rainwater was born December 4, 1930, in Fayette, AL, to the late Loy and Leron Moore Hamm.  She was a graduate of Kennedy High School and worked for Winn Dixie and Freds for many years.  Mrs. Rainwater was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Rainwater, brothers, Joe Hamm and Jimmy Hamm, and sister, Peggy Guest.

     Survivors include her sons, Don Rainwater and his wife Gwen of Columbus, MS, and Ed Rainwater and his wife Rhonda of Vernon, AL, daughters, Pat Davis and her husband Jeff of Vernon, AL, and Jan Bradley and her husband Gary of Navarre, FL, grandchildren, David Rainwater, John Merideth (Kim), Andy Merideth (Jackie), Jason Ritter (Jennifer), Courtney Pennington (Kit), Christopher Whaley, Jennifer Ingle (Eric), and Cherie Whaley, 15 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
