MARY GILMORE -

Mary Alice Whitten Gilmore, age 87, of Pickensville, AL, passed away June 2, 2024, at Generations of Vernon.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Bro. Tim Jones officiating.  The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery of Columbus.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Gilmore was born May 25, 1937, in Pickens County, AL, to the late Early and Erma Fant Whitten.  She was a graduate of Lee High School and worked for several years at the MUW Post Office  Mrs. Gilmore was an avid Sunday school teacher and member of the Pickensville Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Lee Gilmore, and grandson, Robert Daniel Gilmore
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Huey Gilmore of Pickensville, AL, son, Dennis Gilmore and his wife Deborah of Columbus, MS, brother, Howard Mayo Whitten of Starkville, MS, sister, Pat Butler of Columbus, MS, and grandchildren, Scott Gilmore, Erica Braswell and her husband Keith, Dustin Lee Gilmore, Stren Gilmore, Tyler Gilmore, and Traysea Gilmore, and several great grandchildren

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
