Linda Dawkins

LINDA DAWKINS - Linda Vann Dawkins, age 86, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 6, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services will be Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Curtis Chapel Cemetery in Oktibbeha County, MS.  Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 

     Mrs. Dawkins was born September 18, 1939, in Sulligent, AL, to the late L. A. and Clorie Roberts Vann.  She was a graduate of Itawamba Community College and was a member of the Artesia Baptist Church.  Mrs. Dawkins retired as a nurse from Baptist Memorial Hospital and the Baptist Memorial Hospice Program.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Thomas Dawkins, brother, James "Jimmy" Shackelford, Jr., and sisters, DeLois Morris and Carla Cumberland.

     Survivors include her sons, Thomas Eugene Dawkins and his wife Angie of Tuscaloosa, AL, Donald Dawkins and his wife Carol Sue of Starkville, MS, and Ronald Dawkins of Starkville, MS, sisters, Lesia Eaves of Guntown, MS, and Connie Wood of Peppertown, MS, grandchildren, Derek Dawkins, Bill Dawkins, Hayley Dawkins, and Katelyn Dawkins, and great grandchildren, Clark Dawkins and Luke Dawkins.

     Pallbearers will be family members.  Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
