Kathy was born in Aberdeen, Monroe County MS on August 21,1959. She grew up and went to school in Hamilton MS. She was an excellent student, Beta Club officer and Cheerleader. She graduated in 1976.

After graduating from Itawamba community college Kathy took a job at GenCorp in Columbus Mississippi. She was a professional assistant, and in that role she met her future husband Dalton. They were married August 6 1981. While she was excellent at her job and enjoyed it, due to the complexes of a blended family of four children from previous marriages and a child on the way Charlie, she decided that it would be best if she retired and became a full-time mother and homemaker. In Columbus she was involved in many community actives eg PTA, Columbus Pilgrimage.

While never having lived outside of the Deep South she enthusiastically accepted these new adventures with moves to western Ohio and later to eastern Ohio. Being a gregarious and caring person, she made lifelong friends where ever she lived. Kathy kept in contact with them until her disease caused significant issues with communication, however, her husband remains in contact with those friends today.

After fully supporting her husband‘s career for over 25 years, the next phase of her life began by retiring to the Great Smoky Mountains in Maryville, Tennessee. There she continued to volunteer and was a member of a ladies organization PEO that focused on charitable activities. Ultimately she developed the symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia; however, she continued to participate as long as she was physically able.

Kathy is survived by her mother and father, her husband Dalton Windham Maryville, TN, their son Charles Thomas Windham (Brisa) Vero Beach Florida. Their blended family, Karen Windham Fincham (Kevin) of Loxley, Alabama, Larry Windham, of Caledonia, Mississippi, Emily Ridings Jones (Rodney) of Hamilton, Alabama, Brian Windham of Waynesboro, MS, her sister, Kay Weaver Decker (Wayne), brother Gary Weaver (Linda) her grandchildren: Jamie Cochran Carag (Kyle), Jordan Gregory Mey (Bobby), Kayla Jones, Tristan Jones, Ansley Jones, Hank Windham.
