Jason Paul Harrison

Jason Paul Harrison, of Columbus, MS, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carole Harrison Moss, with whom he shared a deep bond. He was the grandson of James and Betty Harrison. The thought of them reunited brings comfort to those who loved him.

Jason was the son of Doug Moss and brother to Justin and Jana Moss. He will be deeply missed by his nieces—Savannah (James) Patton, Maris James, and Sophia Absher—all whom he adored. Jason’s love for his nieces was evident to all who knew him; he was truly a devoted, loving uncle.

He also leaves behind his Aunt Janet Hudson, cousins Jon (Kim) Hudson and Matt Hudson, along with many other family members who loved him dearly.

Jason graduated from Caledonia High School in 1998 and went on to attend East Mississippi Community College. He spent many dedicated years working for the Lowndes County Road Department, where he built strong bonds and lasting friendships.

Jason had a lot of close friends and family who feel lucky to have known him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome—he truly never met a stranger. Those who knew him feel fortunate to have shared in his life and will always remember the warmth, kindness, and friendship he offered so freely.

Visitation will be from 11 am-1 pm followed directly by a ceremony Friday, May 30th at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus. Upon completion, we will have his burial at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Flippo, Jon Hudson, Matt Hudson, Justin Jones, Derrick McEwen, Neil Phillips, Dave Smith, and JT Wright.

Honorary Pallbearers are Matt Atkins, Randy Cathers, Joey Cox, Jeremy Eakin, Andy Finch, Randy Finch, Charlie Harrison, Chad Moore, John Murphy, Sam Pounders, Neil Riddle, Gabe Robinson, Chad Seagraves, Robbie Jacobs, Lowndes County Road Department Employees, and many more friends that Jason considered family.

Jason’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
