Listen to Obituary

James David Logan Sr., 55, of Columbus, MS, passed away on July 12, 2026, at home with his wife and son beside him. He was a long-time military man. He served 27 years in the National Guard. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will immediately follow at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery of Aberdeen, MS, with military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Memorial Funeral Home.

He was known to be the laid-back guy who would help anyone and impart his knowledge to all who needed it. He served three tours overseas and met lifelong friends along the way, serving his country honorably. He loved classic cars, especially Mustangs. One of his early retirement presents to himself was his 2024 Mustang GT, and if you asked anyone who knew him, he was proud of the car but let you drive it if you asked. He was a humble born-again man who loved God and Jesus and would help anyone in need. He loved to work on cars. He loved to impart his mechanical knowledge to his son. He loved his wife dearly and enjoyed taking her to the mountains, one of his favorite places. He loved to travel and see new things. He will be greatly missed by all those whom he touched during his life.
