HENRI JANE PLYLER DYSON January 20, 1944 -December 13, 2025

Henri Jane Plyler Dyson passed away peacefully at home around 8 in the morning of 12/13/25 after a long illness. Arrangements will be forthcoming. Henri Jane was born in Fayette, Alabama, the only child of Henry David and Lydia Jane Vick Plyler on January 20, 1944. She grew up on the family dairy farm in Kennedy, Alabama, graduated from Kennedy High School and attended Auburn University for a degree in Business Administration. Her career as a business woman was varied from Weights Administrator at Mitchell Engineering Company, Administrative Assistant at Horton Nurseries, American Garden-Cole and Reliance Rods, Credit Manager for Universal Industries, Assistant Plant Manager and later Plant Manager for Slush Puppie Corporation, and ended her career as Manager Customer Service-Finance at Dr Pepper Corporate Headquarters in Plano. Texas. Always a country girl at heart, she was happiest being outside planting and caring for flowers and animals or walking around the farm just enjoying God’s creation. Regardless of her career tribulations, her family always came first with her in any endeavor she undertook. She loved us with a passion that far surpassed any transgressions that we may have imposed on her. A no nonsense type girl, straight forward to a fault in all of her dealings with people, with a sense of wit that could curdle the hackles of the harshest of critics, she was always fair and gracious to all and was loved by all who knew her. A dedicated and devout Christian, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, serving on many committees, the Wesley Board, Vice President and two-term President of United Methodist Women, and a member of the Ivy Bible Class, until the disaffiliation took place. Afterward, she attended Grace United Methodist Church until her health prevented it. She was also a member of Belle Fleur Garden Club, serving many years as Treasurer, and the Rose Club. She is survived by John O. Dyson, her husband of 60-years, son, Shawn L. Dyson and Daughter In-Love, Eliska, and precious and beloved granddaughter, Lydia Dyson Davis (Reece) of Highland Ranch, Colorado. She is also survived by her special niece and nephew, Dawn Rene Dyson Merritt of Prattville, Alabama and George L. Dyson, Jr. of Temple, Texas and numerous Plyler, Vick and Dyson cousins. She is predeceased by her parents and son, David O. Dyson of Huntsville, Alabama. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 9245, Columbus, Mississippi 39705, or a charity of your choice.
