Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Eloise Ward entered into eternal glory on October 5, 2025, at the age of 90.

She was born to the late Devie Pearl and William Curtis Millican on April 6, 1935 in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi. A faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for 50 years, she took pride in arranging each week’s sanctuary flowers and organizing the church senior citizen banquets. Tending to her flower beds and listening to music brought her great joy. She also shared fond memories of time spent with friends traveling to Branson and Nashville and line dancing to the live entertainment at The Junction on Friday nights.

Her greatest love was for her family. She delighted in cooking for them and spending time together. She will be remembered as a loyal friend, devoted mother, and doting grandmother and great-grandmother.

Visitation for family and friends will be October 9, 2025 from 12-1 pm at Memorial Funeral Home. A family graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband of 38 years, Jarvis Ward.

She leaves behind her children, Donna Jeffries Ward of Collierville, TN, Steve (Denise) Ward of Pineville, LA, and Mark (Lisa) Ward of Columbus, MS; her grandchildren, Heather (David) Summers of Collierville, TN, Bradley (Amy) Sumrall of Steens, MS, Landon (Amanda) Ward of Alexandria, LA and Hollie (Austin) Andrews of Columbus, MS; her great-grandchildren, Lydia (Connor) Flinn, Ella, June, and Asher Summers all of Collierville, TN, and Bes, Mae, and Annie Sumrall all of Steens, MS; and a special niece, Jane (Rufus) Mason also of Steens, MS.

Pallbearers will be her sons, Steve and Mark; and her grandsons, David, Bradley, Landon and Austin.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to Trinity Health Care and Baptist Hospice, as well as Octavia (Nicci) Stowers and all others who lovingly cared for her
