Edna Mae McCoy,age 83, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Main Street Presbyterian Church with Dr. James Shull officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.

Mrs. McCoy was born on Tuesday, November 15, 1938 in Jackson, MS to the late Otis Brewer and Edna Mae Myers Hanks. She was a member and also served on the staff of Main Street Presbyterian Church, where she was the church organist for 35 years . She was a graduate of Murrah High School and graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 1960, where she studied under Dr. Matson. In her time at the W, she was a member of the Glee Club. She taught piano to many students over the years and was honored to receive The Outstanding Music Teacher of the Year Award from the Mississippi Music Teachers Association. Her legacy will live on through her many students.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Melanie Suzanne McCoy and sister Mary K. Durham.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by her grandson, Mark McCoy; nephew: Michael Seay; and nieces, Sonja Seay, SiMone Coburn, and Mary K. Williams.
