Dennis Lawrence Perkins, age 66 of Springdale, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 in Fayetteville. He was born November 10, 1958 in Harlingen, Texas to the late Ottis Lawrence Perkins (who was at the time a navigator instructor for USAF) and Jessie Grace (Pridmore) Perkins. After moving back to Mississippi a few years later he attended Columbus Schools Franklin, Hunt, Joe Cook and S.D. Lee High School. During his youth, while attending church, he learned to play the drums. He also was in the band grades 7-10. Music was a very important part of his life. He loved watching all sports but had a special place for baseball in his heart. In his younger years he played YMCA Pee Wee Football, and was on Columbus Brick Baseball and the All Star Team as pitcher/short stop/second base, played basketball in 8th grade. While attending S.D. Lee he was in the AFROTC, Christian Fellowship Athletes and percussion section in the band. Dennis went on to play church and community softball leagues as an adult. He attended SBC in Houston, TX and graduated from Missouri Southern in Joplin retired from University of Arkansas as Computer Technician. He was a world cruise traveler and enjoyed sharing about his trips with those he loved. He had a green thumb and loved working in his yard. He was a Proud father and grandfather, an Excellent “Poppaw”. Great son, brother and uncle.
Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Kylie Perkins of Fayetteville and Lyndsay her husband Brian McNeer of Huntsville, two grandsons Hunter and Taylor McNeer, two sisters Larenda Wiggins her husband Granville, and Karen Perkins all of Columbus, MS, nephew Gee Wiggins wife Amanda, nieces Tasha Cornish husband Mike, Tiffany Hale husband Dylan, great nieces Kayla(Brandon)Myers, Savannah Cornish(Dale), great nephews Reece and Noah Wiggins, great-great niece Brooke Myers, a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside service and Burial will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery located in Fernbank, Alabama, Saturday November 29th at 10:30 AM, will be conducted by Granville Wiggins for Dennis’ “Celebration of Life”
