Curry Freeman

November 27, 1936 — January 29, 2024

Curry Littleton Freeman, Jr., age 87, of Columbus, MS, passed away January 29, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.  Graveside services will be Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Luke Lawson and Rev. Jearl Hunley officiating.  Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Freeman was born November 27, 1936, in Steens, MS, to the late Curry Littleton and Sallie Mae Younger Freeman, Sr.  He attended Lee High School and worked for many years at Seminole Manufacturing and American Trouser.  Mr. Freeman was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  He was one of the founding members of the Chitlin Club, loved the outdoors, wood working, and spending time with his grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances Inez Williams Freeman, and brother, Casey Wayne Freeman.

Survivors include his sons, Trey Freeman and his wife Melanie of Columbus, MS, and Russell Freeman of Columbus, MS, grandchildren, Curry Freeman, IV, and his wife Ashley, and Sarah Freeman Adams and her husband Steve, and great grandchildren, Curry Freeman, V, Maeleigh Jo Freeman, and Sloan Adams.

Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2698 Ridge Road, Columbus, MS, 39705.
