It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Brittany Leigh Hansford (Glover) a beloved daughter, wife, sister, and friend, who left this world on July 10, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana, after a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer surrounded by her husband and mother.

Brittany was born on July 3, 1990, in Gainesville, Florida. Brittany's life, although far too short, was filled with an abundance of love, laughter, her unwavering spirit, and a one-of-a-kind personality that was unmatched by anyone.

Brittany was the cherished daughter of Susan and a true daddy’s girl to John Allan Glover Sr. and is preceded in death by her father, John Allan Glover Sr, brother, John Allan Glover Jr, Grandfather Lester bishop, Grandfather William P. Glover, Grandmother Beth Glover, Uncle Harry Dillard Sr.

She is survived by her devoted spouse, Robert Hansford, her loving mother, Susan Glover, her grandmother, Patricia Demilio, as well as multiple cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Brittany’s educational journey began at New Hope Elementary school, and after the passing of her father she continued at Gainesville High School, where she proudly graduated as part of the NJROTC program. She furthered her education by earning an Associate of Arts degree from East Mississippi Community College. With a heart full of compassion and a true servant’s heart, Brittany dedicated her career to caring for others as a nursing assistant, where she brought joy and comfort to those in need.

On December 2, 2014, in Starkville, Mississippi, Brittany united in marriage with her soulmate, Robert. Their love was a testament to the joy and fulfillment that comes from sharing life with someone who truly understands and supports you. Together, they traveled, explored new culinary delights, and made memories that will be cherished forever and remembered always.

Brittany was an active member of her community, embracing her faith as a Born-Again Christian. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and truly guided her through the challenges she faced with her battle with cancer. Brittany was also a passionate advocate for metastatic breast cancer awareness, driven by her personal experience and a desire to support others battling similar struggles.

A vibrant bold spirit, Brittany was known for her infectious laughter, unforgettable personality, and willful soul. She was small but oh so mighty, 4ft 11, a mini hurricane she blew into the room with power and love. Brittany had a gift for making everyone feel comfortable and valued, sparking conversations and connections with each person she met, she was genuine, her bold spirit allowed her to share Jesus with everyone she met. She adored her animals, considering them as her children, and found immense joy in simple pleasures like going to the beach, traveling with her husband, and of course “Smashing down on some good ole fried Chicken”, which was her favorite.

In her honor, a funeral service will be held this Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jonathan Blackburn officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to METAvivor, supporting the important work of advanced stage cancer research.

As we remember Brittany, let us celebrate her life filled with love, laughter, and most importantly, faith and her love for others and life. Her legacy will always continue to shine brightly in our hearts. A special thank you goes out to The City of Hope Cancer center in Newnan, Georgia and St Joseph’s Hospice in Lafayette, Louisiana for their compassionate care during Brittany’s journey.

Rest in peace, our dear Brittany. You have left an irreplaceable mark on the lives of many, and your spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who loved you and until you and your soul mate Robert can reunite. You will never be forgotten and missed always.
