Listen to Obituary

Bobby Patrick was a man whose name alone can spark a smile and a memory of some crazy story out of just about anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, a friend, a mentor, and a fierce man of God. Bobby was never scared of death, he always made that known. He knew where he was going when he left his earthly home. Bobby was a member and an ordained Deacon at First Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his wife Patsy and his beloved dachshund, Tootsie. Robert Alexander Patrick Jr. was born August 12th, 1946 in Columbus, MS to Robert Alexander (Pat) Patrick and Charlotte Patrick. From the time he was a boy he loved baseball and motorcycles. Bobby had a Triumph motor scooter when he was about 12 or 13 which preceded a life long love affair with motor cycles.

Bobby was a talented baseball player, earning the name of Fireball Patrick for his outstanding pitching arm. He graduated from S.D. Lee High in 1964 and would go on to play baseball for Mississippi State University. He graduated from Mississippi State in 1968. Bobby was a State Farm agent for 40 years prior to retiring. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Lake Norris Fishing Club, and long time Bulldog Club donor. He was a member of the Emmaus community and on several committees for First Baptist. Bobby had a zest for life. He spent most of his retirement working in the yard at home and taking care of his property. He loved riding around his property with his wife Patsy and their dog Tootsie for their afternoon scooter ride. Bobby rarely met a stranger. He always had a story to tell and if you were lucky you got to hear them multiple times. Bobby left his earthly home on Saturday, June 28th. He is survived by his adoring wife Patsy Patrick, his daughters Kim and Lisa Patrick and Angie Criddle (David), granddaughter Lauren Rollins (Will) and their son Houser Rollins, granddaughter Kayla Butler (Brad) and their son Anders Butler. Grandsons, Nicholas Hartung, David Lewis, Jesse Kimbrough, and Carter Criddle. Granddaughters, Annabelle Hartung and Lily Bright. His sister and best friend Bethe Patrick Williams Becker (Dave), Niece Mericlare Paxton (Lee) and their 2 daughters Allee and Lane Clare, his nephews Ward and Lex Williams and host of friends who loved him like family.
