BOBBY GARNER

Robert John "Bobby" Garner III, age 75 died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his residence in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Father Jason Shelby officiating. SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED AND MASK ARE MANDANTORY.

Mr. Garner was born on June 5, 1945 in West Point, MS to the late Robert Ivy Garner and Frances Schooley Garner. He attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a sales representative for Jackson-Newell Paper Company for 14 years. In 1969, he graduated from Mississippi State University, where the threw the javelin for the MSU track team and participated in the Army ROTC. Mr. Garner enjoyed history and art and was fond of Cuban cigars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Eugenia Garner Knight, and his grandson, Gregory Miller Puckett.
