Billy Thornbrough

BILLY THORNBROUGH - William R. "Billy" Thornbrough, age 78, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 25, 2026, at Diversicare in Quitman, MS.  Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS with Kenny Gardener officiating.  Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

     Mr. Thornbrough was born August 20, 1947, in Columbus, MS, to the late Lee and Mary Etta Atkins Thornbrough.  He attended school in Amory, MS, Springfield, MO, and graduated from Scott, KS, High School.  Mr. Thornbrough served in the United States Army and was discharged then moved to Columbus, MS.

     Survivors include his uncle, B. A. Atkins and his wife Jane of Columbus, MS, first cousins, Lisa Atkins Petty and her husband David, Andy Atkins and his wife Diana, Brian Atkins and his wife Susanne, and Paige Bishop and her husband Terry, and special friend, Jay Ferguson.

     The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all the nurses and caregivers of Diversicare of Quitman.
