Betty Jo Perry, 96, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Florida. Born on March 7, 1929, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of Wilmer and Elizabeth Blackmon.

A graduate of Mississippi College for Women, Betty Jo earned her degree in Home Economics and carried her love of homemaking throughout her life. She was known for her passion for sewing and gardening and was an active member of several community clubs.

A lifelong member of First Methodist Church, Betty Jo’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She will be remembered for her warm smile, cheerful outlook, and unwavering ability to see the good in everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Emmett M. Perry Jr., and her son, Phil Perry.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Perry (Marina) of Columbus, and Andy Perry (Jesse) of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; her daughter, Betsy Adcock (Mitch) of The Villages, Florida; her grandchildren, Matt Adcock, Amy Hoff, Brittany Giallanza, Kristen Lancaster, Neve and Sam Perry; and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 2:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church of Columbus, with Rev. Glenn Miller officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus.

Betty Jo's legacy of kindness, joy, and faith lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
