Elysia Marie Salazar

Elysia Marie Salazar, age 46, went into the Arms of Jesus on November 12, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, November 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Taylor Chism and Rev. P. J. Mortenson officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Rowan Cemetery in Caledonia. Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.

Elysia is the daughter of Carlos and Mahala Salazar. She was born with an extra chromosome and was totally blind but that didn't keep her from being full of love and affection to everyone she met. She now has a new body and is rejoicing in Heaven. She attended a day rehabilitation program in Columbus and Border Springs Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her sister, Heather Lynn, Gilbert & Willetta Nickles, Virginia F. Salazar, grandparents.

Survivors include her parents, Carlos and Mahala Salazar, her brother, C. T. Salazar (Rachel), her sister, Alma Antonia (Tom) Garcia, several nieces and a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Joe Young, Mitch Wiggins, Doug Wiggins, John Wiggins, Harold Wayne Partain, and Robert Glenn.
