Mr. William Henry Pickering, age 78, of Columbus, Miss., died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at Residence in Columbus, Ms . Mr. Pickering was born on Sunday April 8, 1928 inPontotoc, Ms to the late Murry Ray and Loyd Ernest Pickering. He was a member of Shaffer's Chapel Church and an employee of Lowndes County Disctrict 5 where he retired from after 40 years He is survived by his wife Lucille (George) Pickering; Son-Dale Pickering of Columbus, Miss. and a very special daughter-in-law-Nina Pickering; One Sister, Mandy Thompson of Memphis, Tenn.; One Brother, Hubert Pickering of El Paso, Texas; Two step grandaughters: Tabatha Hazzard (John) and Monica May (Charlie); One step great-grandson: Jonathon Hazzard Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Funeral Home, 716 Second Ave North, Columbus, Miss., where The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, September 24, 2006. Funeral service will be at Shaffer's Chapel Church at 10:00 AM Monday, September 25, 2006 , Bro. Curtis Bray officiating. Interment will be at Shaeffer's Chapel Cemetery in Columbus, Miss. Pallbearers are: Jonathon Hazard, Jon Hazzard, Doug Buchannon, Jerry Buchannon, Dickie Gossett, Jacky Triplett, and David Aexander. Honorary Pallbearers are: Robert bolin, Al Vonkohn, George Stacey, The men of the district 5 Lowndes Country Road Department, and the Members of Shaeffer's Chapel Church. Memorials may be made to the Shaeffer's Chapel Church building fund, 1007 Shaeffer's Chapel Rd Columbus, Ms 39701
