JOHN MONTGOMERY John Rogers Montgomery age 44 died Monday, May 09, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Bethesda Baptist Church with Brother Alan Dees officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wednesday May 11, 2011 from 6 until 7 p.m. at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home, and again from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. John was born on Thursday, November 10, 1966 in Columbus, MS to the late Samuel Rogers Montgomery and Virginia Rushing Spencer. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. John loved the outdoors whether it was working on a project at his home, tending to his animals, fishing, or just walking. He also loved music and was a kind and gentle man. Survivors include: Two Daughters: Samantha Reaver (Jack), Camp Lejeune, NC Stephanie Montgomery, West Point, MS His Mother: Virginia R. Spencer, Columbus, MS One Sister: Angela Pounders, Mayhew , MS One Brother: Samuel L. Montgomery (Shelia), Jonesboro, AR One Grand Child: Madalina Claire Reaver His maternal grandfather: David Rushing (Estelle), Columbus, MS His paternal grandmother: Lily Montgomery, Mayhew, MS 3 nephews and 4 nieces Pallbearers will be: Stan Mathis, Ben Edwards, Daniel Rushing, Bill Hayden, Billy Williams, and Richard West.
