Millie Gray Barham age 97, of the New Hope community, died Tuesday, October 04, 2016 at her daughter’s residence in Steens. Services will be held Friday, October 07, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jessie Ray officiating, burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery , Lamar County , AL. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 06, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barham was born on Friday, December 20, 1918 in Beaverton , AL to the late John Thomas and Mary Francis Perkins Palmer. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, and a retired seamstress for Seminole Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Barham loved gardening and working in her yard, but her greatest love was taking care of, and cooking for her large family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joel Thomas Barham, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 great grandchild, 2 great great grandchildren, 1 daughter-in-law, and 1 son-in-law.
