J.F. Shepherd

J. F. “Granny” Shepherd age 87 died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 01, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Saturday, July 01, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

Mr. Shepherd was born on Sunday, November 17, 1929 in AL to the late Grady and Zelma Owen Shepherd. He attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Shepherd was a retired heavy equipment operator for Perma Corp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Ruby Ferguson, and Loretta Stokes.

Survivors include his wife Virginia “Gin” Shepherd, of  Steens, MS ;his daughters Regina Dimitry (Dan), Reston, VA, and Jill Walker (Mike), Bonaire, GA; and his son David Shepherd, Steens, MS and five grandchildren.
