Shelia Diane Howton Sayad-Assadi, age 63, of Columbus, MS, passed away June 6, 2018, at her residence. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel 2nd Ave. location with Rev. Mel Howton officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Sayad-Assadi was born January 10, 1955, in Caledonia, MS, to the late Raymond and Ozell Blakney Howton. She was a graduate of Caledonia High School and East Mississippi Community College. Mrs. Sayad-Assadi worked for a number of years as activities director at Vineyard Court Nursing Home and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. In addtion to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Douglas Howton.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Sayad-Assadi of Columbus, MS, son, Zack Sayad-Assadi of Columbus, MS, daughters, Sarah Nicole Sayad-Assadi and Nikki Sayad-Assadi, both of Columbus, MS, brothers, Harold Howton of Caledonia, MS, and Robert Ed Howton of Tuscaloosa, AL. and granddaughter, Abbie Sayad-Assadi.
Memorials may be made to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, P. O. Box 85, Columbus, MS, 39703, or to the donor's favorite charity.
